Meredith Raine

Meredith, who supervises media relations activities at UTHealth, can assist reporters with news in any of the university's schools, centers or clinics. A former newspaper reporter, Meredith has been a member of the Media Relations Team since January 2001.

Deborah Mann Lake

She leads publicity efforts for news in pediatrics, women’s health, cardiology, neurology, geriatrics, psychiatry and behavioral sciences. Deborah, an award-winning journalist, spent two decades writing for Texas newspapers including The Houston Post and the Houston Chronicle, where she was a correspondent for its weekly "Health/Medicine" page.

Rob Cahill

He can arrange interviews with scientists in genetics, nanotechnology, biomedical informatics and other fields of medicine. He can also put you in touch with clinicians in the areas of surgery and internal medicine. He formerly served as a daily newspaper reporter at the Laredo News and San Antonio Light. He has a master’s degree in communications and was twice named Communicator of the Year by the Houston Press Club.

Andy Heger

Communications Specialist: Phone: 713-500-3087; Email: Andrew.J.Heger@uth.tmc.edu; Andy Heger joined the UTHealth Media Relations and Communications teams in the Office of Advancement in August 2011. He helps administer university social media sites and leads publicity efforts for education and child development at the Children’s Learning Institute as well as news for the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the UTHealth Medical School. In addition to several years as a news reporter, Andy has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and communications.

Alexandria Bland

Alexandria is a 2011 graduate of California State University Dominguez Hills, where she was the recipient of a Donn Silvis Memorial Scholarship and earned her bachelor’s degree in communications. She gained experience in communications as an intern at FOX 11 News in Los Angeles and Brownstone Magazine. She also established a newsletter for Drew Child Development Corporation and is a frequent contributor to Kontrol Magazine. Prior to joining UTHealth’s Media Relations Team, she served as a program coordinator for the Houston office of The Posse Foundation, Inc.

Stephanie Logue

Communications Specialist: Phone: 713-500-3087; Email: Stephanie.D.Logue@uth.tmc.edu; Stephanie Logue is your media relations contact for news at The University of Texas School of Public Health’s main campus in Houston and its regional campuses in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Brownsville and El Paso. Stephanie recently served as a broadcast editor for Leonie Industries in Afghanistan and also gained experience as an intern at KPRC-TV Channel 2. Currently studying public relations at the University of Houston, she is in the U.S. Army Reserves and has volunteered as a public relations coordinator for the Lone Star Veterans Association.

Sheila Amiot

As a valued member of the staff for more than a decade, Sheila manages the tracking and reporting of UTHealth’s media placements, serves as the liaison for vendors and assists with a variety of other Media Relations Team activities. In addition, Sheila, who has years of experience in business administration, supports essential work in other areas of the office and coordinates community relations events for the President’s Office.
