University Web Communications

The University Web Communications team collaboratively supports electronic communication efforts of the health science center by utilizing the integrated marketing initiative to create a common public “face” and consistent “voice” for the institution. Staff serve with efficiency and courtesy to build online resources that are innovative and attractive, yet widely accessible and user-friendly.

University Web Communications is determined to bring to the forefront the campus news, diverse facts, exceptional discoveries, changes and human-interest stories that are transforming our community, our state and our future.

Primary areas of responsibility:

  • Build and maintain the health science center’s institutional web gateways (the main public pages and the university-wide intranet, Inside UTHealth);

  • Partner with Information Technology (IT), Facilities Operations, and the Office of Research to offer institutional applications and resources such as the People Directory, University Calendar, Campus Maps and the Clinical Trials resource;

  • Track top-tier and university publication Web traffic and trends;

  • Facilitate creation of the health science center’s web standards and ensure those standards are implemented campus-wide;

  • Maintain responsibility for (in partnership with IT) several campus emergency communication channels, including the university emergency website, emergency Twitter channel and the AxisTV campus monitor system;
