Gift Planning

Shirley Druggan, Director of Gift PlanningAt UTHealth, the interplay of design, history, and circumstance has given Gift Planning a unique character within the fundraising domain, complementing annual, major, and capital campaigns.

The UTHealth gift planning program is based on collaboration—collaboration with the donor, the financial sector and the estate planning sector. Not only do we offer expertise in the planning of gifts, we provide the infrastructure and communications which sustain the relationship between donors and the university.

“Planned gifts are the ultimate gifts; they are gifts of transformation; they are gifts of purpose; they are gifts that leave a legacy.”

Our Gift Planning Advisory Council of elite lawyers specializing in estate law and financial advisors ensures compliance with estate planning and taxation issues as well as UT System’s own internal policies. Knowing that we meet all System, state, and national laws and regulations gives our donors confidence that their gifts will be smoothly executed and managed.

In the five years since it was established, the program has secured close to $20 M in new gifts for UTHealth. We are well on the way to creating the valuable long-term resources typically provided by mature and comprehensive programs at institutions of UTHealth’s stature.

Planned gifts are the ultimate gifts; they are gifts of transformation; they are gifts of purpose; they are gifts that leave a legacy. They become the heritage of the university, the donor and the community.

I would love to talk with you about planned giving opportunities. These gifts are truly a “win-win.”  Please get in touch by phone, by letter, or by e-mail.

I look forward to hearing from you.
