Alumni Resources

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) alumni have established careers across the nation and across the world. Some of our brightest students have set out to become doctors, dentists, nurses, medical researchers, teachers and leaders in the healthcare community.

Dean John Valenza

The University of Texas School of Dentistry Alumni Association has chosen Class of 1981 graduate John A. Valenza, DDS, as Alumnus of the Year for 2012. Valenza is dean of UT School of Dentistry — the first alumnus to hold that position in the school’s 107-year history. He also holds the William N. Finnegan III Professorship in the Dental Sciences.

“The Alumnus of the Year is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, and he is also a member of the ADA, TDA, Greater Houston Dental Society, and the American Association of Hospital Dentists,” Mabrito said.
